我再给大家讲讲我自己一个体会，学习制作紫砂壶的最佳途径是什么？04年的时候我写过一个文章，就是说喝茶的壶没有收藏价值，后来我到马连道人人喊打，认识我的都跟我吵起来了，你怎么能说收藏喝茶的壶就不能收藏呢？跟我打架，然后我还不改，我又写了一篇文章“收藏的壶是不能喝茶用的”，又和我打茶壶不喝茶还要它干什么？我说一千多万的壶你喝茶吗？I drink. I say you don’t have, to your hand it just won’t be drunk anymore, a little touch ten thousand yuan and it’s gone, in here we’ve been entangled for a long time, found many examples..。

中国有一个很不同于国外的地方，我们的艺术品基本上都是从实用品发展出来的，这很奇怪，但是要把这个事说清楚真的是绞尽脑汁，我举了很多例子，我说你千万的壶你还能喝茶，我同意，你大方，你奢侈，我给你一张猴票你贴在信上寄出去，你干吗？现在都知道那八分的猴票卖一万多块钱，你现在贴着一封信还寄不出去，信的邮票都涨钱了，昨天给我寄来的宜兴杂志，上面贴的是邮票，一块二，得贴十几枚八分邮票，我就想这个道理，因为那个猴票一开始印就是不是想贴信用的，要收藏紫砂壶的一开始就不是为了喝茶做，它一定不是。因为喝茶的大概就是不会漏水就行，用不着上边装饰很多东西，所以说紫砂壶这些年里基本上是我逢人便讲，要分类。

I've done almost ten years of work, just doing these two things: first is to distinguish between purple sand materials and purple sand teapots and purple sand crafts; the second thing is to categorize purple sand teapots. This categorization has not been completely accepted yet because when they introduce teapots, they don't introduce such categories. They still talk about tea-drinking teapots as if all are the same; they still talk about good or bad quality based on price or style.

So I say that if you don't categorize purple sand teapots, then talking about them with just six characters is low-browed because those six characters do not include the standards for evaluating art. Therefore continuing to use six characters to evaluate purple sand teapots means that no classification has been made. If there is classification then different standards must be established.

In this way one can see that whether a vessel can be called an artistic piece depends on whether it meets certain criteria of artistic evaluation and whether it evokes emotions in others who view it.

A vessel cannot be considered an artistic piece without meeting these criteria even if it costs millions of dollars!
